Be comfortable and wear what you like! Some enjoy dressing up as they have for years while others prefer worshiping in jeans and a t-shirt. We just want you to be there and enjoy your time with God and us.
We like a mix of everything. We try to include some of the most current worship songs, but it's not strange for our church to sing a traditonal hymn and a piece from from Hillsong in the same service.
That would be awesome! We love kids. Children are a beautiful sight to us because we realize that they are the next generation to carry the baton of Christ forward. However, if it makes you feel better we do have a quiet room in the back of the sanctuary.
The PC(USA) is the largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States. We believe that scripture is the primary ruling for faith and life, and that confession shows the church as a community of believers and not just a “collection of individuals.” We are an affirming and inclusive denomination who believes all people are beloved children of God.
Our worship service runs from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. If you've been to a PC(USA) church before, you will recognize our format. They include music, prayer, a message, and community announcements However, we have been known to get creative at times and don't always stick to a rigid format. We share communion on the first Sunday of the month.
We know that checking out a church for the first time can be a little intimidating. We will be excited to have you join us, and probably greet you enthusiastically, but if you want to duck out quietly, nobody will be upset.
We hope not. Our ministry team knows that churches have a stigma for being very dry. We try hard to fight that because we believe following Jesus is quite the opposite. We desire our services to be full of truth, encouragement, and life.
I am not sure, but I do. Just don't spill it, please.
You will fit in just fine. Many of us have stories of mistakes, brokeness, addictions, and failures, and that is one of the reasons that we need each other. There is no greater encouragement than talking to others who have been in your shoes. All of us are imperfect, and all of us are loved.
